How it works

The tip is the bill multiplied by the tip percentage divided by 100 — an 18% tip on a $50 bill is $9.00. The total is simply the bill plus the tip. Splitting divides that total evenly by the number of people, so two diners each pay $29.50. The preset buttons are common tipping rates, but you can type any custom percentage; everything is rounded to the cent and updates live as you type.
