How it works

Morse code represents letters with dots and dashes — SOS is famously ... --- ... — and this tool separates words with a slash. Auto-detect mode inspects your input: if it contains only dots, dashes, slashes, and spaces, it is decoded as Morse; otherwise it is encoded as text. Encoding follows the standard ITU mapping for letters, digits, and common punctuation, and skips characters that have no code. Decoding splits on whitespace and looks each group up in the reverse table, flagging anything unrecognized so you can fix typos.
