How to play
Every move slides all tiles as far as they go in that direction. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile worth double — and each tile can only merge once per move, so [2, 2, 2, 2] becomes [4, 4], never [8]. After every successful move a new 2 (occasionally a 4) appears in a random empty cell. Reach a 2048 tile to win — then keep going for a bigger score if you like. The game ends when the board is full and no two neighbors match.
The classic strategy is to pick a corner and never leave it: keep your biggest tile anchored there, build descending chains toward it, and avoid the direction that would drag the big tile out of place. Your best score is saved on this device.
